David R. Brousell

Co-Founder, Manufacturing Leadership Council

David R. Brousell is Co-Founder of the Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC), a unit of Frost & Sullivan, which he co-founded in 2008.

Full Bio

He oversees all content for MLC’s website, the Manufacturing Leadership Summit, the Manufacturing Leadership Journal, the Manufacturing Leadership Council, and the ML Awards program. In his nearly four-decade career, Brousell has served in numerous leadership positions in companies large and small. In the early 1990s, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Datamation Magazine, which was the standard of excellence in the IT magazine field for many years. In the mid to late 1990s, he served as Vice President and Editorial Director at Sentry Publishing Co., in charge of that firm’s Software Magazine, Client-Server Computing Magazine and Sentry Market Research publications. In 1997, he became Vice President of Strategy at Softbank Comdex, the organizer of the huge Comdex technology trade show and conference. In 1998, Brousell was named Editor-in-Chief of Managing Automation Magazine, part of Thomas Publishing Co. of New York. He later became Vice President & Editorial Director of Managing Automation Media, where he co-founded the Manufacturing Leadership Council in 2008.

Jeff Moad

Jeff Moad

Research Director & Executive Editor, Frost & Sullivan

Jeff Moad is the research director and executive editor at Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership and the Manufacturing Leadership Council. He is also a Frost & Sullivan Associate Fellow, and he is director of the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Program. He helped to launch and now helps to coordinate the Manufacturing Leadership Summit and the Manufacturing Leadership Journal.

Jeff has worked with leaders in the manufacturing industry for the past 14 years. He combines his passion for manufacturing with a wealth of knowledge about information technology to bring a unique perspective to manufacturing issues. Prior to coming to the manufacturing field, Jeff spent a large portion of his career as an award-winning journalist focusing on information technology news and trends.

A resident of Oakland, CA, Jeff holds a journalism degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a winner of the Jesse H. Neil award and other editorial honors.

Paul Tate

Co-Founding Executive Editor and Research Director, Manufacturing Leadership Council

Paul Tate is Research Director and Executive Editor for the Manufacturing Leadership Council at Frost & Sullivan. He has over 30 years of high-level experience as a ground-breaking senior international business and technology editor and communications executive focusing on the impact of advanced new technologies on global business and society.

Full Bio

Tate helped develop and launch the Manufacturing Leadership Council and is directly involved in all content, research projects, events, online materials, and Manufacturing Leadership Journal activities. He also directs the Manufacturing Leadership Council’s Board of Governors and the Council’s annual member-driven Critical Issues Agenda program.

Previous roles include founding Executive Editor of Information Strategy Magazine for The Economist Group in London, Vice President of Communications for global technology consortium X/Open, and International Editor at the computer industry’s bible, Datamation Magazine.

He has also won a number of prestigious business journalism and editorial awards, including the U.S. Jesse H. Neal Editorial Excellence Award for Outstanding Journalism.
